The eHome is here to stay

The only constant thing in life is change. We are living in a constantly changing technological advanced era and will have to change and adapt to that in all spheres of our lives, even in the way we design and build our homes and offices.

When it comes to designing a building a lot of aspects are considered like the building plans, how the building is set on the plot, the type of material to use, the electrical system, the plumbing etc. These are all integral parts of the new building. Communications connectivity is somehow always neglected and only applied afterwards.

Communication connectivity systems or technology infrastructure will have to be part of the design from the very start to create a fully fletched e-home.

Typical functions to be incorporated in such infrastructure are:

  • An Internet connection (ADSL)
  • Voice, video and data technology throughout the house
  • DSTV reception
  • CCTV / surveillance cameras
  • Telephone connections
  • Water and/or electricity meter
  • Security connections
  • Home automation eg gates, garage doors, irrigation systems, etc

The eHome will integrate electronic connectivity services at one central distribution point to manage and distribute all services via high-quality cables throughout the house.

This will secure your safety because all cables will be tucked away in special built in couplings. This feature will not only add to your property value but will make your home more attractive to potential buyers.
