Early detection saves lives

October is international breast health awareness month. This is to remind us that early detection is absolutely crucial in order to save lives and even to make a full recovery.

According to CANSA (Cancer Association SA), one in 29 women are diagnosed with the disease each year (national cancer registry). Overall it is the second most common type of cancer after lung cancer. Breast cancer can be cured, and life can be preserved, if detected early.

For more information contact CANSA toll-free at 0800 226622 or e-mail at info@cansa.org.za
