The heart holds a special place in our lives, both physically and emotionally, and rightly so, but heart disease is unfortunately one of the world's deadliest diseases, killing thousands of people every year. Fortunately there are a few steps we can take to ensure our hearts remain healthier for longer.
A happy heart means:
- Eating more fruit and vegetables, starchy foods and oily fish.
- Avoiding foods that are high in fat, sugar and salt
- Regularly exercising and being active
- Staying tobacco free.
